Our Mission
The mission of The Collegiate School of Memphis is to prepare young ladies and gentlemen for college success within a highly structured, nurturing, Christian environment.
The Collegiate School of Memphis is a private, college preparatory school, providing sixth through twelfth-grade scholars with the highest quality education— cultivated by a structured, safe, and caring environment where each student may fully realize their God-given potential.
The school’s culture was designed to systematically emphasize the ten core values of the school:
Respect
Hard Work
Integrity
Personal Responsibility
Self-Discipline
Determination
Community
Joy
Gratitude
Sacrifice
At Collegiate, these core values work together to support and advance the school’s mission. These values are not only a part of the daily language of the school’s culture, but they also are the ideals behind many of the school’s systems and methods to support character development, outstanding academic performance, and post-secondary success.
Our History
Collegiate was founded in 2008, just north of Summer Avenue, in the Highland Heights neighborhood of Memphis. On that day, we opened our doors to one class of seventh-grade scholars. Since then, we have grown in numerous ways as we serve students in grades six through twelve from around the Greater Memphis community.
Our first class of students graduated from Collegiate in 2014; we have now seen ten graduating classes, with every graduate being accepted to a four-year college or university. In Fall 2022, 80% of our alumni were enrolled or had already graduated from college.
“Collegiate offers a private, Christian, college-preparatory education to every one of our scholars. Scholarship awards ensure that no child is denied this opportunity for a great education based on household income.”

Race and Equity
The Collegiate School of Memphis was founded on the belief that all students should have access to a college preparatory, Christian education. Each Collegiate scholar is valued as an individual, image-bearer of Christ. It is the expectation of the entire CSM community that everyone takes ownership and responsibility to make the school’s culture and community more unified by respecting the diversity of our students, families, faculty, and staff—and by recognizing the value in learning from others’ experiences and cultures. We all are striving to build a community of faith, joy, encouragement, inclusion, respect, and excellence for God’s glory. With the support of one another and the Holy Spirit, our actions are a true reflection of who we are and who God desires us to be. We are committed to growing, learning, and listening to our community as we work to provide an environment that is enriching to the mind, body, and soul.
