Kempie Jenkins
Faith in Action Program
The purpose of the Kempie Jenkins Faith in Action Program is to serve others in love to positively affect our city for the glory of God.
In order to fulfill the purpose of the Kempie Jenkins Faith in Action Program, each high school scholar must meet the minimum requirements as designated and communicated by the program Coordinator.
Ninth and Tenth-Grade Scholars
Required to serve a minimum of 20 hours throughout the school year
A minimum of 10 of those hours must be completed with a single ministry or organization outside of the Collegiate School of Memphis
Eleventh and Twelfth-Grade Scholars
Required to serve a minimum of 30 hours
A minimum of 15 of those hours must be completed with a single ministry or organization outside of the Collegiate School of Memphis
Every hour of student service completed will multiply Kempie's heart for loving one another, serving one another, and believing in each other.
As a part of our Kempie Jenkins Faith in Action Program, the CSM Day of Service is intended to expose scholars to God’s work in the City of Memphis and to give each scholar an opportunity to participate in that work. Our prayer is that God brings our Collegiate community closer together through serving and that our scholars develop a life-long love of serving others.
Doing community service has become an integral part of life at the school and of the Collegiate way. It gives scholars a firsthand glimpse into the vastness that is “Serving Others.” By doing community service we experience what it means to work, learn, grow, and serve. Every community service event I attended this year taught me an important, but slightly different lesson.
